Aquilo Polska sp. z o.o. has launched the implementation of a project co-financed by European Funds:
“Construction and implementation of a smart measuring device for real-time monitoring of sewage, district heating, and water supply networks into the operations of Aquilo Polska sp. z o.o.”
The subject of the project is the construction and implementation of a smart measuring device for real-time monitoring of sewage, district heating, and water supply networks into the operations of Aquilo Polska sp. z o.o. (main goal of the project). The device developed under the project, installed within water and sewage as well as heating networks, will enable the detection of failures/threats in real time and communication between the devices and network operators. The product resulting from the project will allow the Applicant to offer a new product to customers—i.e., water and heating network operators—featuring innovations on a national scale with real potential for implementation on international markets.
The R&D work has been divided into 5 areas, within which the following tasks have been defined for implementation:
1. Radio communication module – tasks 1-1, 1-2, 1-3
2. Battery power management module – tasks 2-1, 2-2
3. Measurement module – task 3-1
4. Enclosure – tasks 4-1, 4-2
5. Data processing module (AI) – task 5-1
6. Task 6-1 concerns obtaining legal protection for the device in Poland (patent protection).
The tasks planned in the project will be carried out by the Applicant with support from research institutions (subcontractors). Only upon completion of all tasks will it be possible to create a complete measuring device and thus achieve the project’s objectives. Estimated completion date: 2027.
Once the device is implemented into the company’s operations, the Applicant will begin production and sales of the device on the Polish market, followed by expansion abroad. This will enable rapid company growth, acquisition of new markets and customers. The device, optimized for operation in harsh environments and featuring a casing that facilitates potential servicing (e.g., replacement of individual components, including electronics), will minimize returns and reduce servicing costs.
The implementation of the project will also enable the Applicant to pursue other business goals such as launching new sales channels and expanding its product range. As a result, the company will be able to continue developing through the creation of further innovative solutions. Thus, the implementation of the project will contribute to achieving the specific objective of FEMA, i.e., EFRR.CP1.I – Developing and strengthening research and innovation capacities and the uptake of advanced technologies. The project will support the development and enhancement of research and innovation capabilities at Aquilo Polska sp. z o.o. Additionally, it will increase the use of innovative solutions by water and heating network operators. The Applicant anticipates that the product will become the first in Poland to serve as an “Intelligent Measuring Device for Network Monitoring” available to network operators.
The project is co-financed under the European Regional Development Fund from the European Funds for Mazovia 2021–2027 Programme.
